Rafael Nadal beat Daniil Medvedev in a titanic 5 set, US Open Tennis final, to win his 19th Grand Slam. An emotional Nadal who has now won 4 times at Flushing Meadows, became tearful as his previous winning matches were displayed on the giant video after the match.

He is now only 1 grand slam victory behind Roger Federer and 3 ahead of Novak Djokovic although he insisted that he was not motivated by this statistic alone.
